The hedgehogs in Mayotte

The season of the hedgehogs called Landra in Shimaore begins at  the rainy season.They hide in holes then go out at night to look for food. This is why  men hunt them at night. They look cute but are delicious in your plate too!

For the hunt it is necessary to be equipped with a flashlight(torch), resisting shoes, bladed weapon such as a knife and the other one. It is necessary to pay attention to the thorns, because they can be dangerous and hurt.

 For the culinary preparation, it is necessary to cut at first the head but not completely, later we let pour the blood, then we make warm some water to remove the horns, then it is necessary to remove the bad things which are inside, finally we cut it in small pieces and we put in a marmite.

For the cooking, it is necessary to put a little water in the pot, later we put some salt, of local plants, pepper, garlic...

Then we wait for 15 to 20 minutes for it to be cooked. Then finally we eat  this delicious, succulent, extraordinary meal. !!!!!!!!!
