THE MAKI
The Lemur Comba called Maki is a primate or lemur considered as the fulvus in Madagascar, or as one of its sub-species (Eulemur fulvus mayottensis - Schlegel, 1866). He lives on the island of Mayotte in the Comoros archipelago, where it was introduced by a man from Madagascar.
. The lemurhas now become a protected species, apparently because he was hunted for food. The capture of this animal became an offense punishable by fine and imprisonment. We can see it everywhere on our island, in the forest, on the road, or even in your garden...
they are fond of fruits such as bananas, papayas, Jaques ...
Their hands are similar to men consisting of 5 fingers which enable them for example to peel bananas.
The fingers have nails. Maki adult size accounted for about 40 to 50 cm for 2 to 3 Kg its musculature enables it to move very easily from tree to tree and jump in the air!
